Following Happiness

In our life we are continuously seeking happiness..we associate this word with every act that we do with our living breath. What then is happiness?
We often associate happiness with what we think is our definition of happiness and the way we see the world through our perceptive eyes.We have set notions about what makes us happy and we start chasing those dreams and thus begins our end less journey through life and until death. For exg, we think having riches,a loving partner, obedient kids, established career, good health to name few things can grant us happiness/fulfillment. But is it really so? Do any of these things last that long ? Or, plentiful in one often goes with deficit in another - riches but poor health or disregard for health, understanding partner but difficult career or monetary gains. One does not necessarily guarantee the other. But that does not stop us from wanting or desiring.
These wants or desires in life create an illusion of happiness that lasts a short while. We start expecting from life, spouse, children, relationshiops and continuously measure against our own parameters thus defining our boundaries for happiness. The moment we set these boundaries we have put our happiness in self built cage or prison. We have limited what could have been source of unlimited joy. These boundaries or expectations limit our source of happiness and we have thus lost opportunities that we could have otherwise gained from in life. Take a look back at some of the situations in life where we have felt misery/unhappiness around us. Was this misery a manifestation of our own thoughts, ideas or our own perceived notion of happiness glorified by our wants and desires ?
True Happiness is to be free from these wants or desires - to liberate oneself from these self created boundaries and our own notions and perceptions of happiness. Even "wanting" to be happy is a desire in itself and needs to be dropped. Happiness is not driven by /dependent on circumstances or people around us but is independent of those conditions. Happiness is not something that needs to be attained through the gratification of the sense; it is a state of the mind. Mind that is free from the plethora of wants and desires is happy, is blissful. That is freedom . That is liberation. Mind that is free from any thoughts/desires/wants of liberation is "Love"
